Teaching and collaboration

Table of Contents

If you support students or early-stage founders, you’ve probably seen this before.

Students care about sustainability.
They want to do things ethically.
But the business side feels confusing, stressful, and expensive to get wrong.

This page explains the three ways I work with colleges, universities, and organisations, depending on time, budget, and how far you want students to go.

You can choose between these three options

  • The 3-hour workshop helps students understand what building a sustainable business really involves.

  • The 2-week programme helps students stop guessing and build early foundations.

  • The 8-week programme takes students from early stage to fully set up and ready to sell.

They’re all based on the same topic and striving for the same outcome. The main difference is the depth at which they are taught.

Option 1: 3-Hour Intro Workshop

Price – £500

This is the simplest way to introduce the topic and works well when time or budget is tight.

What this is for

This workshop is about awareness and understanding, not full business setup.

What it includes

  • 1 x 3-hour live workshop

  • preparation and delivery

  • printed exercise handout for each student

  • practical examples and discussion

Group size

  • Suitable for 10–20 students

  • Additional students: £15 per student

End result

Students leave with:

  • a clear understanding of what sustainable business really means

  • awareness of common mistakes that cause stress and money loss later

  • a better idea of whether they want to take this further

This workshop gives students a better understanding about what it requires to ensure that their business is ethical.
It does not build the full business yet.

Option 2: 2-Week Pilot Programme

From £1,200

This option is for organisations that want students to go beyond awareness and start building their business properly.

What it includes

  • 2 weeks

  • 4 sessions

  • 2 hours per session

  • small-group teaching

  • printed programme workbook for each student

Group size

  • Minimum 4 students

  • Maximum 10 students

Pricing

  • 4–6 students: £1,200

  • 7–10 students: £1,800

This programme is designed for small groups and runs with a maximum of 10 students.

For larger cohorts, a second group or a workshop format may be more suitable.

What we focus on

Over two weeks, students work on:

  • understanding sustainability in business properly

  • ethical sourcing and supplier risk

  • basic market research

  • cost and pricing foundations

End result

By the end of the 2 weeks:

  • students understand what a sustainable business requires

  • early foundations are in place

  • students know exactly what needs to happen next

They are not fully set up yet, but they will have the information needed to make better decision about how to move forward with their business.

Option 3: 8-Week Programme

From £3,200

This is the full programme.

This is for organisations that want students to leave with a real business that is ready to sell.

Structure

  • 8 weeks

  • 2 sessions per week

  • 2 hours per session

  • Total: 32 hours of teaching

  • small-group learning

The goal of the 8-week programme

By the end of the 8 weeks, every student should have their business fully set up and ready to sell.

What does ready to sell means

By the end of the programme, students will have:

  • their basic legal setup decisions in place

  • ethical suppliers researched and chosen

  • their primary products selected

  • costs calculated properly

  • pricing understood and defensible

  • a clear, SEO-friendly website

  • a simple marketing plan

  • the confidence to focus on selling

All the planning will have been dealt with within the 8 weeks. Students can then focus on selling but also have the right skillset and tools to manage and run their business properly.

What it includes

  • 32 hours of live teaching

  • structured step-by-step learning

  • printed programme workbook for each student

  • practical exercises used during sessions

  • space for questions and real discussion

Group size

  • Minimum 4 students

  • Maximum 10 students

Pricing

  • 4–6 students: £3,200

  • 7–10 students: £4,500

This programme is designed for small groups and runs with a maximum of 10 students.

For larger cohorts, a second group may be more suitable.

Choosing the right option

If you want a simple guide:

  • Choose the 3-hour workshop for access and introduction

  • Choose the 2-week programme for clarity and early foundations

  • Choose the 8-week programme for full setup and readiness to sell

If you just want to hire me to teach

Sometimes you don’t need a full workshop or programme.

You might already have a course running and you just want someone to come in and teach .

If that’s you, you can hire me for:

  • a guest session

  • a short block of teaching

  • visiting lecturer support

  • a few classes across a term

It can be online or in person.

Topics I’m usually brought in for

  • sustainability in business

  • ethical sourcing and how to avoid hidden exploitation

  • pricing, costing, and why so many makers undercharge

  • building a sustainable handmade business from the start

  • circular economy in practice

If you’ve got a specific topic in mind, just tell me. I’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.

How pricing works

I don’t charge a simple hourly rate, because teaching is never just the hour in the room.

There’s prep, planning, adapting it to your cohort, and making sure it’s actually useful.

So I price guest teaching by session or half day / full day, depending on what you need.

If you message me with:

  • how long you want me for

  • how many students

  • whether it’s online or in person

  • what topic you want covered

I’ll come back with a clear quote.

Want to talk about it?

Use the contact form and let me know what kind of topic you would like to cover.

I’ll tell you what’s realistic, what will work best for your students, and what it would cost.
